Today at the Proms - Day 44

CONCLUDING
our daily coverage of what's on at The Proms 2021, Susan Omand takes a quick look at the Last Night of the Proms...

Well, after 44 long days [long LONG days - Ed] of articles , we've made it to the Last Night of the 2021 Proms.

As ever, the evening closes out in best Prom-bobbing tradition, with No Place Like Home, the Fantasia on British Sea Songs, Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia and the British National anthem before we all join hands [but only at the right time in the song! - Ed] for Auld Lang Syne.

Before that though, the programme really is a 'best of' from some of the composers featured in this year's season. We get some Ruth Gipps by Malcom Arnold, some Piazzola by Angelis AND by Piazzolla himself, some Wagner, some Florence Pryce and Ravel STILL not doing Bolero!

And we get the glorious, some may say ubiquitous Barber's Adagio for Strings. So here's a version you may NOT have heard before, unless you played Homeworld back in the day.

Here's the full programme for today's Proms which you can listen to live on Radio 3 or on the iPlayer
